What the listing puts on the page
The paragraph below is Amazon’s own sales copy. We keep it quoted and set apart rather than folded into our text, because marketing prose and a description are not the same thing, and because what it leaves out is as useful as what it claims.
Flexible Gaming: This Slim console supports disc games released before January 2028, alongside future digital-only titles purchased from the PlayStation Store, offering diverse play options. Ample Storage: Features a 1TB SSD, providing generous space to keep numerous favorite games installed and readily available for instant access. Blazing Speed: Maximize play sessions with near-instant load times for installed PS5 games, driven by the ultra-high-speed SSD and a custom CPU and GPU.
The price, read properly
A gap this narrow does not change the decision. Judge it at $616.55 and treat the saving as incidental.
One caveat we will not paper over: this is measured against Amazon’s own listed price, not against the lowest figure the product has ever carried. Our record of this listing starts on 27 October 2026, so it is a comparison, not a history.
The listing carries an end date of 17 November 2026. Retailers pull pages early and without warning, so read that as the outer edge rather than a promise.
Against what else is on the shelf
The closest tracked listings in gaming & consoles are PlayStation®5 Digital Edition – 825GB at $569.05 and Xbox Series X - Gaming Console - 1TB SSD - Includes Wireless Controller - 4K Gaming - 120FPS - Carbon Black at $798.00. So this sits in the middle of its own bracket, which is usually the least interesting place to be unless the specification says otherwise.
These are the nearest listings by price that our tracker currently holds, not a survey of the market. Anything not listed on Amazon does not appear here at all.
The strongest reason to pick it is the combination of a disc drive and a 1TB SSD, which covers both your existing disc library and fast digital play.
